Reading FC Announces Sale to Rob Couhig's Redwood Holdings
Reading FC confirms sale agreement with former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig's Redwood Holdings Limited.
Former Wycombe Wanderers owner Rob Couhig has agreed to take over Reading FC, the League One club announced. The deal comes after Chinese businessman Dai Yongge was ordered to sell the club in March due to his disqualification under the EFL's owners' and directors' test.
“Reading Football Club is pleased to announce the sale in principle of the club to Redwood Holdings Limited...,” the club said in a statement, confirming the agreement with Couhig's company.
“Based on the agreement between the parties, the EFL has agreed to extend its deadline for the divestment of Mr Dai Yongge's shareholding until its next board meeting on May 8.
“Redwood Holdings Ltd is a subsidiary of Dogwood Football LLC, which is owned by Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair of New Orleans, Louisiana.”

Dai Yongge, who acquired Reading FC in 2017, faced criticism from fans for the club's financial struggles. Last season, Reading was penalized with a six-point deduction for financial mismanagement and withdrew from the Women's Championship due to financial issues.
Currently, Reading sits seventh in League One, narrowly missing the final playoff spot, which is occupied by Leyton Orient on better goal difference.
