Leverkusen Prepares for Big Names to Leave, Including Wirtz and Alonso

Bayer Leverkusen is preparing for potential departures of key players, including midfielder Florian Wirtz and coach Xabi Alonso, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in signing Wirtz.

After a remarkable unbeaten season that saw them win the domestic league and cup double, Leverkusen will finish second this campaign, trailing Bayern Munich, who secured the title with an eight-point lead and two matches remaining.

Bayer Leverkusen is preparing for the potential departure of key players, including Florian Wirtz, Xabi Alonso, Jonathan Tah, and Patrik Schick.

Wirtz, 22, is likely to join Bayern Munich, with the German champions reportedly keen on signing the talented midfielder. Wirtz has been in excellent form, scoring and assisting 10 goals each in the league this season.

Florian Wirtz's potential transfer could earn Bayer Leverkusen over €100 million, given his contract runs until 2027. According to reports, Wirtz would prefer to join Bayern Munich if he leaves Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso's departure seems likely, as he's repeatedly declined to commit to another season with Leverkusen. Alonso has indicated that discussions about his future will take place at a later date.

Xabi Alonso's likely departure might lead to him joining Real Madrid if Carlo Ancelotti leaves the club.

Jonathan Tah, a defensive leader with a decade at Leverkusen, is set to depart after his contract ends. A Bayern Munich move for Tah nearly materialized last year but fell through.

Patrik Schick, Leverkusen's top scorer this season with 19 Bundesliga goals, might also leave. Bayern Munich has targeted him as a potential backup to Harry Kane, the league's top scorer.
