LaLiga: Atletico's Away Form Slumps with Draw Against Alavés
Atletico Madrid's struggles continue as they are held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Alavés, extending their away form slump.
Deportivo Alavés, struggling against relegation, extended their unbeaten streak to three games by holding Atlético Madrid to a goalless draw. This result marked Atlético's fourth loss in their last five away games.
The first half was uneventful, with both goalkeepers, Antonio Sivera and Jan Oblak, enjoying a comfortable period. Neither Alavés nor Atlético created any significant scoring opportunities, with no shots on target during the opening 45 minutes.

The game's first notable moment came in the 40th minute when Julián Alvarez was initially shown a straight red card for a challenge on Facundo Garcés. However, after a VAR review, the referee downgraded the punishment to a yellow card, giving Alvarez a reprieve.
In the second half, Alavés created a half-chance when Carlos Vicente delivered a free-kick that Jon Guridi headed wide of Jan Oblak's goal, one of the few promising moments in an otherwise dull match.
The match gained some momentum when Atlético substitute Samuel Lino registered the game's first shot on target in the 71st minute, testing Alavés goalkeeper Antonio Sivera with a long-range effort.
Shortly after, Oblak made a crucial save at the other end, denying Kike García's close-range attempt. The match began to open up, with Sivera later making a quick reflex save to palm away Clément Lenglet's shot.
Alavés striker Kike García remained determined to win the match, attempting a powerful shot that Oblak parried away. Despite his efforts, the game ended in a goalless draw.
The result moved Alavés three points clear of the relegation zone, while Atlético Madrid maintained their position on course to finish in third place.
