Injury Blow for Spurs as Maddison Doubt for Europa League Match
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou confirms James Maddison's knee injury doesn't look promising, potentially ruling him out of the Europa League semi-final against Bodo/Glimt.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison is likely to miss the Europa League semi-final second leg against Bodo/Glimt due to a knee injury sustained in the first leg. Maddison was substituted midway through the second half of the 3-1 win and manager Ange Postecoglou revealed the prognosis wasn't good.
“We're just waiting for further information... It doesn't look great, but we'll just wait and see. Hopefully we'll probably get some clarity tomorrow (Monday). It doesn't look promising, but I'll just wait and see,” Postecoglou told reporters after Tottenham's 1-1 draw with West Ham.
The news on teammate Dominic Solanke, who also limped off in the previous match and didn't play against West Ham, was more positive.
Postecoglou provided an update on Dominic Solanke, saying, “Dom's improving. We obviously left him out today but the medical team are pretty confident he should be right for Thursday.”
The Spurs manager made eight changes to the team, resting key players ahead of the Europa League match, and expressed satisfaction with the performance of the altered lineup. “It's not easy making so many changes and it's going to affect the fluency and even the rhythm of the team. I thought the efforts they put in today were outstanding, they were disciplined, organised,” he praised.
“We were disappointed with the goal we conceded but aside from that I thought we nullified their threat as well as we could and they had some decent firepower up front and I still thought we were dangerous going the other way.

“So I’m glad the boys get some reward. It’s obviously not a win but get some reward for their efforts because I thought on a difficult day they handled themselves really well.”
