England Names 13-Player Squad for Zimbabwe Test Match

England's squad for the Zimbabwe Test match has been revealed, with Sam Cook and Jordan Cox earning their first call-ups and Josh Tongue returning from injury.



England's cricket team has called up two uncapped players, Essex duo Sam Cook, a bowler, and Jordan Cox, a keeper-batter, for the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge on May 22. The 13-player squad was announced by the England Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday, ahead of Zimbabwe's first Test in England in 22 years.


Sam Cook, 27, has been called up with 318 first-class wickets to his name, after impressing on the England Lions tour of Australia where he took 13 wickets in three matches. Jordan Cox, 24, a wicketkeeper, has also earned his first call-up. Meanwhile, fast bowler Josh Tongue has been recalled to the squad after recovering from injuries, marking his return since the 2023 Ashes.
