Diego Simeone Acknowledges Failure to Inspire Players in Atletico's Struggles
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone admits struggling to inspire his players amid the team's poor away form in LaLiga. Find out more about their recent performances.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone acknowledged his team's poor away form, taking full responsibility for the struggles. Osasuna's 2-0 win over Atletico marked another defeat on the road, extending their winless streak to five away games, with three of those ending in shutouts.
Simeone admitted he's struggling to inspire his players, which has contributed to the team's away woes. Atletico's recent form has raised concerns, with the team managing only one win in their last six away fixtures.
“I think we played better today than we did against Alaves and Las Palmas, but it's clear the coach isn't finding a way to inspire the players to perform at their best away from home,” Simeone told a press conference.
“I'm looking inward. It's my responsibility that they can't show off away from home what they do when we play at home.”
