Beckham, who grew up in Salford, expressed his passion for the club, saying, “Salford City is at the heart of its community ... it has a rich history and I am delighted to be a part of the next chapter.”
Salford City was taken over by the “Class of '92” in 2014, with Peter Lim initially part of the ownership group. However, Gary Neville acquired Lim's stake last year. Under the new ownership, Salford achieved significant success, including four promotions in five years.
The club finished eighth in League Two this season, narrowly missing a playoff spot. The current ownership group consists of nine shareholders, including David Beckham, Gary Neville, Dream Sports Group, and several other investors.
