Conceicao: AC Milan Can Still Make Champions League Despite Deficit
AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao remains hopeful of securing a Champions League spot despite a nine-point deficit to fourth-placed Juventus.
AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao urged his players to stay focused and not give up on securing a Champions League spot next season. Despite being nine points behind fourth-placed Juventus, Conceicao believes his team can still make a late push.
With four matches remaining in Serie A, the season hangs in the balance for Milan. Juventus, currently occupying the final Champions League spot, has played one more game than Milan, leaving Conceicao's side with a challenging but not impossible task.
Despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana and reaching the Coppa Italia final, AC Milan's season has been underwhelming. The team currently sits in ninth place in Serie A.
“We just need to work, it's not like a change of system automatically fixes everything,” coach Stefano Conceicao said. “The team showed it creates chances in every game, but we lacked balance and defensive solidity.”

AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao provided injury updates ahead of their match against Genoa. “Luka Jovic is feeling better, (he) had three training sessions with us, but Tammy Abraham has a fitness problem, so he is out along with Warren Bondo and Riccardo Sottil,” he said.
Conceicao emphasized the need for improvement, saying, “We are working on all of this, not just as a team, but also the individual errors we cannot afford to commit at this level.”
Conceicao confirmed Kyle Walker is available for selection, noting he can play in a back three or as a wing-back.
“Kyle Walker is available, he knows how to play in the back three or as a wing-back,” Conceicao said. He added, “Every day that we come here, there is the responsibility of working for a club like Milan,” emphasizing his commitment to Serie A despite the upcoming Coppa Italia final.
“The Serie A table is what it is but we have the responsibility to prove our quality every day, to prove we are a different team from the one that we appeared to be at times.”
