Arsenal produced a dominant performance to overcome Lyon 4-1 in the second leg, overturning a 2-1 deficit from the first match and securing a 5-3 aggregate victory.

The win marked a historic milestone for the Gunners, who will appear in the Women's Champions League final for the first time since their 2007 triumph, a feat that has yet to be matched by any other English club. They will face Barcelona, the current titleholders.

The match started poorly for Lyon as goalkeeper Christiane Endler inadvertently scored an own goal just five minutes in. A misjudged corner was deflected off her and into the net.

Lyon struggled to cope with Arsenal's high press, frequently losing possession in dangerous areas. The Gunners capitalized on these mistakes, doubling their lead before halftime with a stunning long-range strike from Mariona Caldentey.

Lyon's struggles intensified after halftime when Alessia Russo capitalized on a series of defensive mistakes to score just 30 seconds into the restart, giving Arsenal a 4-2 aggregate lead.

The decisive blow came in the 63rd minute when Lyon's Vanessa Gilles lost control in the penalty area, allowing Caitlin Foord to pounce on the loose ball and score with a precise shot into the top corner.

Lyon's fortunes slightly improved when Melchie Dumornay scored a consolation goal in the 81st minute, but Arsenal's lead was insurmountable, securing their spot in the Champions League final against Barcelona, who thrashed Chelsea 4-1 in London for an 8-2 aggregate win.
