UEL: Tottenham Edges Frankfurt, Reaches Semi-finals
Dominic Solanke's penalty secures Tottenham's spot in the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Dominic Solanke's penalty was enough to secure Tottenham's spot in the semi-finals, as they edged past Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 at Deutsche Bank Park. This marked Spurs' first semi-final appearance in a UEFA competition since 2019.
Frankfurt had the first chance when Hugo Ekitike was released by Kaua Santos' 70-yard pass, but Micky van de Ven made a crucial intervention, keeping Ekitike from scoring. Tottenham weathered the early pressure and created their own opportunity when Mathys Tel's curling effort was saved by Frankfurt goalkeeper Santos.
The visitors took the lead after winning a penalty when Santos clashed with James Maddison in the box. Solanke converted the spot-kick, shooting into the middle of the net and ending his 11-match goalless streak.
Tottenham Hotspur held on for a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, becoming the first team to keep a clean sheet at Deutsche Bank Park this season. The visitors' slender lead was threatened after halftime when Fares Chaibi's free-kick narrowly missed the post.

Despite facing intense pressure, Spurs managed to preserve their advantage. Cristian Romero's header from Pedro Porro's corner flew inches wide, but the visitors' goal remained intact.
Frankfurt pushed hard for an equalizer in the late stages, with Chaïbi getting a close-range shot that Guglielmo Vicario expertly blocked. Despite several opportunities, Dino Toppmoller's team couldn't find a way through, ending their Europa League title hopes.
Dominic Solanke's composed penalty proved decisive, ending Spurs' four-match losing streak on the road and keeping their European title aspirations alive since 1984. The win marked a crucial milestone for Ange Postecoglou's side.
