Thomas Frank on Christian Eriksen's Potential Return to Brentford
Brentford manager Thomas Frank refused to rule out the possibility of Christian Eriksen returning to the club when his Manchester United contract expires. The London-based team has been closely monitoring Eriksen's situation, particularly after his impressive performance against Portugal.
“Christian is a fantastic player, probably the best Danish player in recent times, and I think we saw most recently against Portugal that he did really well, and he is still in a good place,” Frank said. “There is no doubt that Christian wants to play some more.” Eriksen initially joined Brentford after being fitted with an ICD device following his cardiac arrest during Euro 2021, which prevented him from playing in the Serie A for Inter.

Eriksen made 11 appearances for Brentford, scoring once, before joining Manchester United in the summer of 2022. According to Brentford manager Thomas Frank, Eriksen had a positive experience during his time with the London club. “He had a fantastic time when he was with us. At least that's how it was, from our side, and that's also what I know he has expressed,” Frank said.
Frank expressed openness to considering Eriksen's return, stating, “I'm open to all players, and of course there are lots of things that play into whether someone comes in or not.” When asked about potential negotiations between Brentford and Manchester United, Frank declined to comment, saying, “Everything was still open.” Eriksen has played 17 Premier League matches for Manchester United this season, with nine starts.
"I think if there was a winner, it should have been us against a team who have spent a few quid" 💰
