Swiatek on Mental Approach

Swiatek highlighted the importance of mental strength, saying, “You need a lot of inner energy and a lot of motivation to get out every week and play as good as you can. It's not only about technique and tennis. It's about mentality and the feelings you have inside.” The win marked a return to form for Swiatek after a surprise defeat in Miami.

Swiatek's Stuttgart Quest

Iga Swiatek, the world number two, is gunning for a third Stuttgart title after winning in 2022 and 2023. A victory would mark her first tournament win in 2025. Swiatek recently advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Croatian qualifier Jana Fett.

Rising Star Andreeva's Next Challenge

Mirra Andreeva, a 17-year-old Russian rising star, progressed to the round of 16 after her sister Erika retired with a 6-2, 1-0 deficit. Andreeva will face Ekaterina Alexandrova for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Sabalenka's Assured Spot

World number one Aryna Sabalenka is guaranteed a spot in the last eight without playing, thanks to Anastasia Potapova's injury-induced retirement. Despite never winning the Stuttgart title, Sabalenka has finished runner-up three times between 2021 and 2023, twice losing to Swiatek.

Pegula and Gauff's Last 16
Matchups

American tennis stars Jessica Pegula (world number three) and Coco Gauff (world number four) will compete in the last 16 on Thursday. Their wins would set up exciting quarterfinal matchups, potentially against top seeds like Swiatek and Sabalenka.
