Suarez's Four-Homer Night Powers Diamondbacks in Loss
Eugenio Suarez becomes the 19th player in MLB history to hit four home runs in one game, leading the Diamondbacks in a 8-7 extra-innings loss to the Braves.
Eugenio Suárez made history by becoming the 19th player in Major League Baseball history to hit four home runs in a single game. He achieved this feat during the Arizona Diamondbacks' 8-7 extra-innings loss to the Atlanta Braves on April 26, 2025. Suárez's remarkable performance included a solo home run in the second inning, a two-run homer in the fourth, another solo shot in the sixth, and a game-tying home run in the ninth inning.

Suárez's four home runs were hit off Braves pitchers, with the first three coming against Grant Holmes and the fourth against Raisel Iglesias. This impressive display marked the first time a player had hit four home runs in a game since J.D. Martinez in 2017. Suárez's achievement not only showcased his individual talent but also highlighted the challenges faced by the Diamondbacks, who became the third team to lose a game despite a player hitting four home runs.
The Diamondbacks trailed 6-2 in the seventh inning but managed to tie the score at 7-7 in the ninth inning thanks to Suárez's fourth home run. However, the Braves ultimately won the game in the 10th inning when Matt Olson scored on a wild pitch. Suárez's performance may reignite his batting and provide a morale boost to the Diamondbacks. He now leads MLB with 10 home runs this season, tied with Corbin Carroll.
Suarez's impressive performance began with a hat-trick of home runs in his first three at-bats. He launched a solo shot in the second inning, followed by a two-run homer in the fourth, and another solo blast in the sixth, all off Braves starter Grant Holmes.

The Braves pulled Holmes after Suarez's third homer, a 443-foot blast over the center field wall at Chase Field. This feat marked Suarez's third career three-homer game, with the most recent one occurring last July. With this achievement, Suarez became the first player to hit four homers in a game since J.D. Martinez in September 2017.
