Serie A: Torino's 10-Man Team Holds Verona to 1-1 Draw
Verona and Torino share spoils in a 1-1 draw, with Torino's goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic gifting Verona the opener before Eljif Elmas equalizes.
Torino managed to grab a point against Verona despite making life difficult for themselves. The Granata were initially on strong form, having secured three wins and two draws in their previous matches. However, their progress was hindered by a parried Che Adams penalty, a goalkeeping error, and the red card for Samuele Ricci.
Torino were missing several key players, including Alieu Njie, Zanos Savva, Duvan Zapata, Perr Schuurs, and Amine Salama. Despite this, they had been performing well. Verona, on the other hand, had also been in good form, moving towards mid-table after a win away to Udinese and a draw with Parma. They were without Davide Faraoni, Casper Tendgstedt, Tomas Suslov, Cheikh Niasse, and Abdou Harroui.
The match began with Daniel Mosquera drilling a shot just wide from distance in the opening minutes. Amin Sarr also had a promising counter-attack, but hesitated and eventually saw his shot charged down by Guillermo Maripan. Eljif Elmas tested Lorenzo Montipò with a long-range shot, but Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was equal to the task, rushing out to make a clean challenge and prevent Sarr from scoring.
The game remained intense, with both teams creating chances. Milinkovic-Savic had to be alert to make a crucial save, and later could only stand and watch as Antoine Bernede's right-foot curler from the edge of the area shaved a coat of paint off the far post on 36 minutes. The shot was inches from being a goal, highlighting the close calls that both teams were experiencing in the match.

Daniel Mosquera continued to threaten Verona's goal, firing over from a tricky angle after catching Sebastian Walukiewicz napping. However, Saul Coco made a crucial intervention with a well-timed sliding block as Mosquera ran onto the through ball from Domagoj Bradaric.
The match took a dramatic turn when Amin Sarr charged down a corner with his arm, which was spotted by VAR and resulted in a penalty. Che Adams stepped up to take the penalty but saw his central effort saved by Lorenzo Montipò, keeping the scoreline level. However, moments later, Torino's goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic gifted Verona the opener with a howler. Milinkovic-Savic was too relaxed in possession on a back-pass and failed to notice Sarr rushing in to close him down, resulting in a clearance that ricocheted into the net off the striker from six yards.

Torino responded quickly to Verona's goal, with Eljif Elmas cutting inside from the right and completing a give-and-go with Nikola Vlasic before curling a left-foot finish into the net. The equalizer gave Torino new life in the match, but their momentum was short-lived. The match took another dramatic turn when Samuele Ricci was shown a straight red card for a mistimed tackle on Junior Ajayi, landing studs-up on top of his ankle. The red card reduced Torino to 10 men and gave Verona a chance to capitalize on their numerical advantage.
