Feyenoord's resurgence has been fueled by three consecutive wins, the latest being a convincing 4-1 victory over FC Groningen on Wednesday night. This triumph has propelled the team to third place in the Eredivisie standings, where they now trail second-placed PSV by a mere five points. PSV's recent loss to Ajax has opened the door for Feyenoord to close the gap, and they're eager to seize the opportunity.


PSV Eindhoven players have been vocal about their current struggles, acknowledging that finishing second is now their top priority. This admission comes after they lost ground to Ajax and experienced their worst post-winter break form since 1960. Meanwhile, Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read is confident that his team can capitalize on PSV's struggles. With Feyenoord having established their first Eredivisie win streak of 2025, Read is eager to build on this momentum.


Read expressed his optimism in an interview with ESPN, saying, ”Third place was the goal, but if we can do better, why not? Our hopes were already somewhat alive, but now even more so. We are going to do everything we can.” His teammate, Antoni Milambo, shares Read's sentiments, believing that Feyenoord can indeed threaten PSV's position. Milambo stated, “I think it's possible, we'll look at it day by day. Now, our focus is first AZ away.”
