Lois Boisson responded with humor after Harriet Dart complained about her body odor during their match. Boisson posted a photoshopped image of herself holding a deodorant can while serving, tagging Dove for a “much-needed collab.”

Dart later apologized for her comment, which sparked backlash on social media. During the match, Dart had asked the umpire to tell Boisson to use deodorant, saying, “Can you ask her to put on deodorant? She smells really bad.” Dart lost the match 6-0, 6-3.

Harriet Dart apologized for her comment, saying, “It was a comment made in the heat of the moment and I truly regret it. It's not the way I want to behave and I take full responsibility. I have a lot of respect for Lois and the way she competed today. I'll learn from this and move on.”

Nick Kyrgios commented on the incident, saying, “Nah saying this when you are down and getting snipped is wild.” Boisson seemed out of earshot when Dart made the remark about her body odor during the match.

Lois Boisson achieved a stunning upset, defeating Dart 6-0, 6-3 in her first WTA Tour appearance of the season following an injury. Dart failed to convert any of her six break points and lost her serve four times. The WTA did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the incident.
