Judd Trump overcame a late surge from Shaun Murphy to win 13-10 and advance to the World Championship quarter-finals at the Crucible. Trump had dominated early, building a 12-6 lead that suggested a comfortable victory.
However, Murphy mounted a strong comeback, winning four consecutive frames after Trump missed a crucial red, narrowing the deficit to 12-10. Trump showed resilience, regrouping to win the 23rd frame and seal the win, securing his quarter-final spot.
Judd Trump, the 2019 World Open champion, is set to face either Luca Brecel, the reigning world champion, or Ding Junhui, a 2016 finalist, in the quarter-finals. Trump secured his spot after a thrilling 13-10 win over Shaun Murphy, coming back from a potential comfortable victory to seal the match.

During Sunday's session, Trump achieved a remarkable milestone, recording his 100th century break of the season. This impressive feat earned him a £100,000 bonus. With the world title prize of £500,000 up for grabs, Trump stands to make history by becoming the first player to surpass £2 million in a single season if he emerges victorious at the Crucible.
Reflecting on his performance in an interview with the BBC, Trump admitted: “Shaun was in a world of his own for four or five frames and I was a little bit worried, but I had to back myself in that last frame.
“In the past I've been a bit hard on myself but I'm a lot stronger mentally and I've learned to appreciate the losses and use them as motivation.
“I'm a lot more confident this year, I'm hitting the ball a lot better. I probably have a bit more belief in myself and I feel a lot more calm.”
Si Jiahui booked his spot in the quarter-finals with a 13-10 win over Ben Woollaston. Woollaston had shown resilience, coming back from 9-7 down to level the match at 10-10. However, Si Jiahui regained control, winning three consecutive frames to seal the victory.
Si Jiahui, who reached the semi-finals two years ago, will next face either Ronnie O'Sullivan or Pang Junxu in the quarter-finals.
A CENTURY OF CENTURIES! 💯🔥@JuddTrump racks up his 100th century of the 2024/25 season, winning the £100,000 bonus — it's only the third time a player has hit the milestone in a single season.
