Hansi Flick Criticizes LaLiga's Kickoff Time for Celta Vigo Match

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expresses frustration over early kickoff time for match against Celta Vigo, citing lack of rest for players.

Barcelona Bounces Back from Defeat
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick addressed his team's 3-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund, reminding them that they had already secured a spot in the semi-finals with a 5-3 aggregate win. “The team has a lot of merit. There is still a long way to go and we are not at the end,” Flick said, urging his players to stay focused on their goals.

Barcelona will look to bounce back from the Dortmund defeat when they host Celta Vigo. The teams previously played out a 2-2 draw, with Barcelona coming from behind after Marc Casado was sent off. Flick will be looking for his team to exact some revenge and maintain their lead in LaLiga.

Barcelona's pursuit of a treble under coach Hansi Flick continues, with the team still competing in LaLiga and the Champions League semi-finals. “I am really satisfied with the team and the performances this season,” Flick said. He highlighted the significance of reaching the Champions League semi-finals, saying, “We're still in three competitions. We're in the Champions League semi-final. This is a huge success, and we can be happy for that.”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised his team's resilience, competing on three fronts this season, but expressed frustration over the kickoff time for their upcoming LaLiga match against Celta Vigo. With Barcelona advancing to the Champions League semi-finals and facing Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, Flick wanted to give his players more rest.

The early kickoff time for the match against Celta Vigo didn't sit well with Flick, who felt the league should accommodate a later start time. He pointed out that the team returns to Barcelona very late after European away games, often not getting to bed until 5 am. “Every league protects their clubs, especially when they play in the semi-finals of the Champions League,” Flick said. “It's unbelievable, we have no time to rest.”

Flick questioned the reasoning behind the early kickoff, saying, ”For me, the guys responsible for that - I want to discuss it with them... But why can't we play at 6:00 pm like we normally do? Give me one reason. To me, it's a joke, and it affects Spanish football. The rest of the teams in the European leagues benefit.” He appreciated not having an even earlier match against Valladolid but felt the scheduling was unfair to his team.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed frustration over the late kickoff time for their upcoming match against Celta Vigo, saying, “I'm speechless because this situation is unbelievable. In the Bundesliga or Premier League, they take care of their clubs... They (LaLiga) have no idea what this (arriving late) means for the players.”

Flick praised Celta Vigo's 37-year-old coach Claudio Giraldez, saying, “I have the highest respect for his work, he's coached a great team... it has nothing to do with his age.” He added that Celta has a clear playing style, “they're very brave in their build-up.”

Flick emphasized the need for Barcelona to showcase their strengths and improve on their performance against Dortmund. “For us, it's important we show our strengths, maybe what we missed in Dortmund,” he said. “We spoke about the situations we had in Dortmund and we have to do better tomorrow... We have to play at our highest level. Also, they like their away matches.”
