Füchse Berlin defeated Aalborg Handball 40-36 in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, securing their spot in the Final 4.

Mathias Gidsel and Füchse Berlin dominated the match, leaving no doubt about the outcome and advancing to the next stage with another convincing win.

Aalborg's hopes of a comeback were dashed as Füchse Berlin, the Bundesliga leaders, secured a 40-36 win in the second leg, taking the overall contest by a 12-goal margin.

Mathias Gidsel and Lasse Andersson tormented their Danish opponents, each scoring five goals in the first 19 minutes to give Füchse Berlin a 14-12 lead and a commanding aggregate advantage.

Aalborg attempted a comeback with strong local support at the Gigantium Arena, but their defense struggled. They briefly took the lead, but Füchse Berlin's attack proved too strong.

Despite efforts from Norwegian Sander Sagosen and goalkeeper Fabian Norsten, who made several key saves, Aalborg couldn't overcome Füchse's potent offense, ultimately falling short in their comeback bid.

Mathias Gidsel and Lasse Andersson each scored four goals in the second half, further solidifying Füchse Berlin's dominance. Meanwhile, Aalborg's Henrik Mollgaard's European career ended with an injury.

Füchse Berlin's convincing win positions them as strong favorites for the Final 4 tournament in Cologne. With Gidsel in top form, they'll be a team to watch in the competition.
