EPL: Arsenal Delays Liverpool's Title Win with 4-0 Thrashings of Ipswich

Arsenal secured a 4-0 win over 10-man Ipswich, delaying Liverpool's potential Premier League title win and keeping their Champions League hopes alive.

Arsenal denied Liverpool the chance to win the Premier League title this weekend with a comfortable win over 10-man Ipswich at Portman Road. The Gunners dominated from the start and took the lead in the 14th minute when Bukayo Saka's cross was deflected into the net by Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal doubled their lead after good work by Saka, whose cross was flicked on by Mikel Merino for Gabriel Martinelli to tap into an empty net. Ipswich's task was made even harder when Leif Davis was shown a red card in the 32nd minute for a poor tackle on Saka.

Trossard scored his second goal in the 69th minute, finishing smartly from inside the area after a well-worked short corner. Substitute Ethan Nwaneri added a fourth for Arsenal with a deflected shot two minutes from time, securing a convincing win for the Gunners.

This win delayed Liverpool's title celebrations, but Arsenal's focus remains on their Champions League campaign. Mikel Arteta used the match to trial a midfield lineup for the semi-final against Paris St-Germain, with Declan Rice playing deeper, Mikel Merino in his natural role, and Martin Odegaard linking well with Bukayo Saka.

Odegaard was instrumental in Arsenal's first-half goals and played superbly alongside Saka. The only concern for Arsenal was Saka's ankle injury, which required strapping after the tackle that led to Leif Davis' red card. Arteta prioritized protecting his key player, substituting Saka in the 57th minute.

With the Champions League semi-final approaching, Arsenal's upcoming matches feel like a build-up to the biggest games of the season. Next up is a match against Crystal Palace, but the Gunners' sights are firmly set on their European assignment.

Ipswich's struggles continued as they lost to Arsenal, rendering their Premier League survival mission mathematically impossible. Manager Kieran McKenna had already acknowledged the difficulty of their task, and the defeat further highlighted the team's lack of quality.

Despite possessing exciting young players, Ipswich struggled to pose a threat to Arsenal, particularly after Leif Davis' red card. Striker George Hirst went close on a counter-attack, curling a shot just wide, but overall, the team lacked the firepower to trouble the Gunners.

Ipswich's top scorer Liam Delap was unavailable for selection due to a rib injury, and his absence was felt. The team will now look to delay the inevitable relegation confirmation when they visit Newcastle United next Saturday.
