Dorival Junior Signs with Corinthians Until 2026

Dorival Junior appointed as new Corinthians coach on contract until December 2026 after being sacked by Brazil.

Dorival Junior has been appointed as the new coach of Corinthians, signing a contract that runs until December 31, 2026. This appointment comes after his abrupt dismissal as Brazil's national team coach following a humiliating 4-1 loss to Argentina in a World Cup qualifier last month.

Dorival Junior replaces Ramon Diaz, who was relieved of his duties after managing the team for four matches. Corinthians currently sits 12th in the league standings with seven points from six matches. The 63-year-old coach expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for his new role, pledging to leave a lasting legacy at the club.

About Dorival Junior's Career:

Previous Experience: Dorival Junior has previously coached São Paulo, Santos, and Palmeiras, winning the Copa do Brasil with São Paulo in 2023.
Contract Details: His contract with Corinthians runs until December 31, 2026, and he will be accompanied by assistant coaches Lucas Silvestre and Pedro Sotero, as well as Celso Resende.
Goals: Dorival aims to build on the work done by the previous coaching staff and lead the team to success in all competitions.

Brazilian coach Dorival expressed his aspirations for his new role, saying, “It's an important moment in my career. I hope to leave a legacy within the work that has already been going on.”

Dorival acknowledged the loyalty of Corinthians' fans, adding, “They're loyal fans who never give up. That's a trademark. I hope to experience all this... At the end of the season, I hope we can fight for all the competitions we're in.”

The position had also attracted interest from former Brazil coach Tite, who recently announced an indefinite career break.
