Al Nassr took the lead before halftime when Ali Al Hassan expertly curled a shot past goalkeeper Yassin Bono. Ronaldo then doubled the advantage two minutes into the second half, scoring with a precise shot after receiving a pass from Sadio Mane. Ronaldo's goals proved decisive, as Al Nassr went on to secure a 3-1 win over their title rivals.
Reigning champions Al Hilal attempted to mount a comeback, utilizing counter-attacks to try and get back into the game. Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the victory for Al Nassr in the 88th minute, converting a penalty awarded for a handball by substitute Mouteb Al-Harbi following a VAR review. The win was a testament to the team's collective effort, and Ronaldo emphasized this in his post-match comments. “The team effort was crucial to this win and me scoring is important but it's more important to win,” Ronaldo told SSC. He also highlighted his focus on the team's success over individual achievements, saying, “I work hard to help the team in the SPL and Champions League and don't concentrate on individual records.”
