Amorim on Rashford, Antony, and United's Transfer Plans
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim believes the club's struggles won't deter top players.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim believes the club's struggles this season won't deter potential transfer targets. Despite the team's poor performance, currently 14th in the league with 38 points, Amorim is confident that United's allure remains strong.

The club is on track for its worst-ever points total in the Premier League era, with a record 15 losses this season. United's previous record was 58 points in the 2021-22 season, and they now have just five games left to improve their standing. Amorim's optimism about attracting players suggests he believes the club's reputation and potential for future success will outweigh current difficulties.
Manchester United's European hopes hinge on their Europa League campaign, where they are currently in the semi-finals. The team needs to win the trophy to qualify for the Champions League; otherwise, they risk missing out on European competition altogether.
According to Amorim, attracting top talent to Manchester United isn't a concern. “It is Manchester United. What I feel is that there are a lot of players that want to play for our club,” he said. Amorim acknowledged the club's current challenges, including staff changes and inconsistent results, but emphasized that the club's clear vision makes it easier to recruit players. “We have a clear idea, and that is the easiest part to explain to a player. And then it is Manchester United, everybody wants to play for Manchester United.”
Marcus Rashford and Antony have made positive impressions during their loan spells, and their futures at Manchester United will be determined in due course. According to manager Ruben Amorim, while he has formed opinions about certain players, things can change in the coming weeks.

“Everything can happen (with respect to transfers),” Amorim noted. He cited Casemiro as an example, saying, “He was a player that wasn't playing and then you see in the last games he is playing a part and he's performing quite well and he's playing all the time.” This suggests Amorim remains open to reassessing players' roles and potential as the transfer window approaches.
Ruben Amorim is open to changing his mind about players if circumstances dictate, saying, ”So I am not that kind of coach that doesn't like to change my mind. If they change my mind, I am really happy with that. I just want to win and to put the best players in our team.”
Amorim also provided updates on his squad's injury status, noting that defender Diogo Dalot could miss the final few weeks of the season with a calf injury. However, he expressed optimism about the potential return of Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt, who are nearing a return from their respective injuries.
