Serie A: Roma Stun Napoli with Late Equaliser in Thrilling 1-1 Draw
Roma secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Napoli, thanks to Angelino's stunning 92nd-minute volley, denying the league leaders a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table.
Angelino's stunning 92nd-minute volley secured a dramatic 1-1 draw for Roma against league leaders Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico, extending the hosts' unbeaten Serie A run to seven matches.
Roma entered the contest on a high, having won three of their last four Serie A matches. A positive result against Napoli would have brought them closer to the top six, and they were determined to make the most of the opportunity.
The opening 20 minutes were cautious, with Napoli gradually gaining the upper hand. Scott McTominay's close-range effort was comfortably saved by Mile Svilar, setting the tone for a tightly contested match.
Napoli's dominance eventually paid off in the 29th minute when Leonardo Spinazzola, a former Roma player, latched onto Juan Jesus' long ball and produced a magnificent finish over the onrushing Svilar. The goal marked a deserved breakthrough for Antonio Conte's side.

Roma pushed hard for an equalizer before halftime, but Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret made a crucial save from Evan Ndicka's glanced header, preserving Gli Azzurri's slender lead.
Napoli's strong record in recent head-to-head meetings, with six wins, three draws, and one loss in the last 10 encounters, seemed to give them an air of confidence. They dominated the early stages of the second half, and Scott McTominay should have done better when he blasted the ball over the bar after Romelu Lukaku's good work.
Roma received a warning sign, but they also came agonizingly close to equalizing when Leandro Paredes' curled free-kick struck the outside of the post. The match remained finely balanced heading into the final quarter-hour, prompting Claudio Ranieri to introduce Paulo Dybala off the bench in a bid to salvage a late point for the hosts.
Just as it seemed Napoli had done enough to secure the win, Roma struck at the death. Alexis Saelemaekers delivered an inch-perfect cross, which Angelino volleyed into the far corner with brilliance, securing a dramatic 1-1 draw. This result extends Roma's unbeaten home run to eight matches across all competitions.
The draw also means Napoli miss the opportunity to go five points clear at the top of the Serie A table, while their seven-match winning streak comes to an end. Roma, on the other hand, continue to show resilience, having now gone seven matches unbeaten in Serie A.
