Serie A: Kolo Muani Steals the Show as Juventus Overcome Empoli 4-1

Randal Kolo Muani scored a quickfire second-half brace to help Juventus come from behind and defeat Empoli 4-1, maintaining their unbeaten home streak this season.

Randal Kolo Muani's impressive start to life in Italy continued as he scored a second-half brace to help Juventus overcome Empoli 4-1. The victory marked Empoli's eighth consecutive winless outing in Serie A, with the team reduced to 10 men during the match.

Mattia De Sciglio, a former Juventus player, stunned the Allianz Stadium crowd by scoring his first league goal in three years. De Sciglio headed in Liam Henderson's corner delivery at the far post, catching Juventus off guard and leaving them facing an uphill battle.

The early setback raised concerns for Juventus, given their recent struggles when conceding first. Since January 2024, the team had failed to win any of their 13 league matches in which they conceded the opening goal. However, Juventus managed to regroup and eventually turn the game around.

Empoli's hopes of securing a penalty were dashed when the referee overturned their claims due to a handball in the build-up. Michele Di Gregorio had collided with Youssef Maleh inside the area, but the decision went in Juventus' favor. As the half progressed, Juventus began to assert their dominance, with Nicolas Gonzalez forcing Devis Vasquez into a spectacular save.

Despite Juventus' growing control, Empoli managed to cling to their narrow lead at the break. The second half, however, belonged to Juventus, with Kolo Muani's brace leading the charge. The team's comeback victory marked a much-needed win for Thiago Motta's side, ending their two-game losing streak.

Kolo Muani stole the show at the Allianz Stadium, scoring a quickfire brace after the hour mark to turn the game in Juventus' favor. The Frenchman's first goal came when he capitalized on Mattia De Sciglio's mistake, sprinting down the left flank before unleashing a powerful strike past Devis Vasquez.

Minutes later, Kolo Muani doubled his tally, albeit fortuitously, as he inadvertently redirected Timothy Weah's shot into the back of the net from point-blank range. This rapid brace deflated Empoli's morale, and their woes deepened further when Youssef Maleh received a second yellow card in the 84th minute.

Juventus sealed the victory with two stunning goals in the final minutes. Dusan Vlahovic added a third goal with an unstoppable strike into the roof of the net from outside the box. Francisco Conceicao then put the icing on the cake, latching onto Khephren Thuram's lofted pass and scoring with ease when one-on-one.

The defeat marked Empoli's fourth consecutive winless away league outing and their first loss in three meetings with Juventus. Roberto D'Aversa's team now finds themselves lingering just one point above the drop zone. In contrast, Juventus bounced back from their first defeat of the season against Napoli, maintaining their unbeaten streak at the Allianz Stadium this campaign.
