Liverpool Boss Arne Slot to Miss Two Matches After FA Decision
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been banned from the touchline for two matches following a red card in the Everton match, with Johnny Heitinga set to take charge.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been handed a two-match touchline ban, which was confirmed after he received a red card during the Merseyside derby against Everton earlier in February. The incident occurred when Slot made comments to the referee after the full-time whistle, following a 2-2 draw between the two teams.
The Premier League had initially announced Slot's two-match ban on their website, but the post was quickly deleted, suggesting that the decision was pending review. However, the ban has now been confirmed, and Slot will miss Liverpool's next two Premier League matches. The Dutch manager will be absent from the dugout when Liverpool face Newcastle on Wednesday, February 26th, and Southampton on Saturday, March 8th.

In addition to Slot's ban, Liverpool's assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff will also serve a two-match ban. As a result, Johnny Heitinga, another member of Liverpool's coaching staff, will take charge of the team for their fixture against Newcastle. Both Liverpool and Everton have been fined by the Premier League following the heated Merseyside derby, with the Reds receiving a £65,000 fine and the Toffees being charged £50,000.
