Profar Lands Big Payday with Braves, Signing 3-Year, $42 Million Deal

The Atlanta Braves have signed All-Star outfielder Jurickson Profar to a 3-year, $42 million deal, a significant payday for the veteran player.

The Atlanta Braves have signed outfielder Jurickson Profar to a three-year, $42 million deal, as announced by the team on Thursday. Profar, 31, is an All-Star outfielder who recently won his first Silver Slugger award. He will be joining an Atlanta Braves team that finished six games out of first place in the NL East during the previous season.

Profar is coming off an exceptional season, having posted the best numbers of his career. He achieved a slash line of .280/.380/.459/.839, while hitting 24 home runs, 85 RBI, and 158 hits – all career highs. Additionally, his 10 stolen bases tied a career-high. Profar's impressive performance earned him recognition around the league, particularly after a memorable interaction with Dodgers fans during the National League Divisional round of the 2024 MLB Playoffs.

Profar's new deal with the Braves marks a significant milestone in his career, as he will be earning more money over the next three years than he did in the previous 11 years combined. His previous contract with the San Diego Padres was a one-year, $1 million deal. Now, Profar will be cashing in on the biggest paycheck of his life, with a total of $42 million guaranteed over the next three years. This amount surpasses his total earnings of just over $35.2 million from his time with the Texas Rangers, Athletics, Colorado Rockies, and Padres.
