Manchester City Close in on Andrea Cambiaso Deal

Manchester City are reportedly nearing a £58.7 million deal for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, 24, as part of their January rebuild under Pep Guardiola. Cambiaso's potential move to City has been facilitated by his decision to rule himself out of Juventus' crucial Champions League match against Benfica.

Initially, Manchester City had a £54.5 million offer rejected by Juventus, who were holding out for £75.5 million. However, a compromise is expected to be reached this week, following Juventus coach Thiago Motta's revelation that Cambiaso cited an ankle injury as the reason for his absence. Juventus are already preparing for Cambiaso's potential departure, targeting Feyenoord's David Hancko as a replacement.

The signing of Cambiaso is seen as a strategic move by Manchester City to strengthen their defence, with the Italian full-back viewed as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker. The deal highlights City's intent to bolster their squad and maintain their competitive edge in the Premier League and Champions League.
