Lazio Drop Points at Home as Como Secure Deserved 1-1 Draw

Lazio's poor league form continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Como at the Stadio Olimpico, despite taking the lead through Boulaye Dia.

Como secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against 10-man Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, moving two points clear of the Serie A relegation zone. This result extends Lazio's poor league form to just one win in their last five outings.

Lazio was under pressure to deliver a positive response after their disappointing defeat in the Derby della Capitale. However, it was Como who started strongly, with Nico Paz coming close to scoring an early opener on two occasions. Cesc Fabregas' team continued to push for a breakthrough, and Patrick Cutrone narrowly missed the target as Lazio struggled to gain momentum.

Despite being on the back foot, Lazio took the lead against the run of play in the 34th minute, thanks to a brilliant individual effort from Boulaye Dia. The Senegalese striker received a pass from Matteo Guendouzi, turned Marc-Oliver Kempf in the box, and curled a clinical strike into the far corner for his fifth Serie A goal of the season.

The second half began with Como maintaining their momentum from the first half. Marc-Oliver Kempf and Alberto Dossena both came close to scoring with headed efforts, keeping the pressure on Lazio's defense.

Lazio's situation became more challenging when Loum Tchaouna received his second yellow card in the space of a minute, resulting in his dismissal shortly before the hour mark. This numerical advantage gave Como further encouragement, and they capitalized on it 18 minutes from time.

Patrick Cutrone scored the equalizing goal, heading home Gabriel Strefezza's inviting delivery at the back post. This goal set the stage for a thrilling finale, with Strefezza nearly scoring a dramatic winner for Como when his long-range strike narrowly missed the target.

Despite continued pressure from Como, neither team could find a winner, and the match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw. This result dealt a blow to Lazio's title aspirations, as they slipped further behind in the Serie A standings.
