Kevin Kisner Named US Ryder Cup Vice-Captain

The PGA of America announces Kevin Kisner as a vice-captain for the US Ryder Cup team, joining leader Keegan Bradley's staff.

The PGA of America announced on Wednesday that Kevin Kisner, a four-time PGA Tour winner, will serve as a vice-captain for the US Ryder Cup team under leader Keegan Bradley. The team will aim to reclaim the trophy from Europe this year at Bethpage Black in New York. Kisner boasts an impressive match-play record as a professional but has never been part of a Ryder Cup team.

Kisner joins vice-captains Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker on Bradley's staff. Bradley expressed his enthusiasm for Kisner's addition, stating, ”Kevin is a great addition to our leadership group and will be a trusted voice throughout the coming months and this year’s Ryder Cup. Bradley highlighted Kisner's extensive match-play success and strong relationships, saying, “His extensive match-play success and strong relationships make him a perfect fit. I look forward to working with him closely as we get ready for Bethpage Black.”

Kisner's impressive match-play credentials include winning the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2019 and finishing runner-up in 2018 and 2022. Additionally, he owns a 2-2-3 career record in three Presidents Cups, demonstrating his ability to perform under pressure in team competitions.

Kevin Kisner gained valuable experience in team competitions last September, serving as a captain's assistant on the US team that secured a 10th consecutive Presidents Cup victory. This experience has prepared him for his new role as vice-captain on the US Ryder Cup team.

Kisner expressed his enthusiasm for the Ryder Cup, stating, “I love match play and the Ryder Cup is one of the greatest events in sports.” He emphasized his eagerness to contribute to the team's success, saying, “I cannot wait to be a part of it and look forward to doing everything I can to support Keegan, Webb, Brandt and our talented team in September.”

The US Ryder Cup team, led by captain Keegan Bradley, will continue to take shape in the coming months. Additional vice-captains are expected to be announced later. The highly anticipated Ryder Cup competition is scheduled to take place from September 26th to 28th.
