Jacksonville Jaguars Begin Search for New Head Coach
The Jacksonville Jaguars have requested interviews with eight coaching candidates, including Todd Monken, Kellen Moore, and Ben Johnson, as they search for a new head coach.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have taken the first step in finding a replacement for former head coach Doug Pederson, requesting interviews with eight different coaching candidates. General manager Trent Baalke, 60, submitted the requests on Tuesday, kicking off the search for the team's next leader.
Among the coaches on the Jaguars' radar are several prominent offensive coordinators from around the NFL. The list includes Todd Monken from the Baltimore Ravens, Kellen Moore from the Philadelphia Eagles, Joe Brady from the Buffalo Bills, Liam Coen from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Ben Johnson from the Detroit Lions. These coaches bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, making them attractive candidates for the Jaguars' head coaching vacancy.
In addition to the offensive coordinators, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke also requested interviews with two defensive coordinators. The list includes Aaron Glenn from the Detroit Lions and Patrick Graham from the Las Vegas Raiders, both of whom have established themselves as respected defensive minds in the NFL.
Notably, former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh was also among the candidates Baalke requested to interview. Saleh, who led the Jets from 2021 to 2023, brings head coaching experience to the table, making him an intriguing option for the Jaguars' vacant head coaching position.

Todd Monken, 58, was the architect behind the Baltimore Ravens' historic offense this season, which topped the NFL in total yards and ranked third in scoring. Under Monken's guidance, quarterback Lamar Jackson had a record-breaking year, becoming the first QB in NFL history to throw for over 4,000 yards and rush for over 800 yards, earning him MVP consideration.
Kellen Moore, 36, brings a wealth of experience as an offensive coordinator, with six years under his belt, including his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles. This season, Moore's offense ranked eighth in the league and seventh in scoring. Meanwhile, Ben Johnson, 38, led the Detroit Lions to the top-ranked scoring offense and the second-best overall offense in the league, showcasing his ability to design and execute a high-powered attack.
In contrast, Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator for the Lions, faced significant challenges this season, with his unit ranking 20th in the league despite being plagued by injuries. Despite these setbacks, Glenn's experience and ability to adapt to adversity make him an attractive candidate for the Jaguars' head coaching position.
Joe Brady, 35, has been the driving force behind the Buffalo Bills' potent offense since 2022. This season, his unit ranked 10th in the league and an impressive second in scoring. Brady's success with the Bills has undoubtedly caught the attention of the Jaguars, making him a compelling candidate for their head coaching vacancy.
Liam Coen, 39, made a significant impact in his first season as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator. Under his guidance, the team ranked third in total scoring and fourth in total offense. Notably, Coen previously served as the offensive coordinator for the 2022 Los Angeles Rams, who went on to win the Super Bowl. His experience and track record of success make him an attractive candidate for the Jaguars.
Patrick Graham, 45, led the Las Vegas Raiders' defense to a 15th-ranked finish this season, although they struggled with scoring, ranking 26th. Meanwhile, Robert Saleh, also 45, has a familiar connection with Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke, having worked together in the San Francisco 49ers system. Saleh's tenure as the New York Jets' head coach came to an end after a Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings this past season.
