Everton Parts Ways with Sean Dyche Amid Relegation Battle

Everton Football Club has sacked manager Sean Dyche after a poor run of form. The search for his replacement is underway.

Everton Football Club has parted ways with manager Sean Dyche, effective immediately. The decision comes on the eve of the Toffees' FA Cup third-round match against Peterborough, scheduled for this evening.

The dismissal follows a dismal run of form, with Everton securing only one victory in their last 11 Premier League outings. As a result, the team finds itself in a precarious position, sitting 16th in the table and a mere point above the relegation zone.

Everton Football Club has officially announced the departure of Sean Dyche as Senior Men's First Team Manager, effective immediately. The club stated, “Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.”

In addition to Dyche's departure, the club also announced the exit of several other staff members, including Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard, and Billy Mercer. The statement read, “Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club.”

Speculation is already underway regarding Dyche's replacement, with notable candidates including Jose Mourinho, who has ties to the new ownership group, the Friedkin Group, and David Moyes, a former Everton manager. The club has not yet confirmed any candidates.

In the interim, Leighton Baines, the Under-18s Head Coach and a former Everton player, and Seamus Coleman, the Club Captain, will take charge of first-team affairs. The club statement explained, “The process to appoint a new manager is under way and an update will be provided in due course. Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis.”
