Celtic Welcomes Back Jota: “It's Very Nostalgic for Me”



Portuguese forward Jota has rejoined Celtic FC, the club where he previously scored 28 goals in 83 appearances. Jota expressed his excitement about returning to Celtic, saying 'it's very nostalgic for me'.



Ligue 1 side Rennes has secured the services of Japanese international Kyogo Furuhashi, signing him from Scottish champions Celtic. This transfer marks the end of Furuhashi's successful stint with Celtic, which began in 2021.


Kyogo Furuhashi expressed his excitement about the new challenge, stating, “After some great years with Celtic, I was looking for a new challenge in a recognised league. Physically and technically, the league is very competitive.” During his time with Celtic, Furuhashi impressed with 85 goals in 165 matches across all competitions.


Rennes executive president Arnaud Pouille welcomed Furuhashi to the team, saying, “The arrival of Kyogo is what the whole club wanted. He has a technical profile that will strengthen the dressing room.” Pouille also acknowledged Furuhashi's achievements with Celtic, adding, “He joins us after a fine career with Celtic and a number of trophies won in Scotland.”


As part of the transfer, Portuguese forward Jota will rejoin Celtic. This move marks a return to familiar territory for Jota, who will look to make an impact with the Scottish champions once again.

Jota also shared his thoughts on his time away from Celtic, acknowledging the ups and downs he experienced. “The last year and a half has had its ups and downs, but that's life and that's how football is,” he said. Looking ahead, Jota is eager to get back to work, stating, “Now I just can't wait to work hard, to get along with the lads again and just to flow.”
