PSG Face Disciplinary Action Over Unpaid Wages to Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has referred PSG to the French league's disciplinary committee over unpaid wages and bonuses totaling 55 million euros.

Kylian Mbappe has escalated his pay dispute with former club Paris Saint-Germain, referring the issue to the disciplinary committee of the French league. The dispute centers around 55 million euros in unpaid wages and bonuses, which PSG has refused to pay.

A hearing has been scheduled for December 11 to address the issue. Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid in June, had previously agreed to waive the 55 million euros in bonuses if he left PSG for free at the end of the 2023/24 season. However, the validity of this agreement is contested by Mbappe's entourage

The French league appeals commission has already upheld the decision ordering PSG to pay Mbappe the 55 million euros. PSG disputes this ruling, but if found guilty, the club could face a fine or a ban on signing players.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was instructed by the French Professional Football League (LFP) to pay Kylian Mbappe the outstanding sum from his time at the Parc des Princes. However, in October, PSG announced their intention to refuse payment, citing an agreement allegedly made by Mbappe in August 2023 to waive the amount.

The French Football Federation (FFF) rejected PSG's request to reconsider the payment order last month, citing that the submission was made a day late. According to the French league's statutes, PSG may face penalties, including a fine or a ban on signing players, if they fail to comply with the order.

Despite the potential consequences, PSG is reportedly confident that the LFP does not have the final authority in the matter. The club believes that the case would need to be heard by an industrial tribunal, which could potentially overturn the LFP's decision.

The conflict between Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stems from an agreement made in August last year. At the time, Mbappe had been sidelined from the PSG squad for refusing to extend his contract, which was set to expire in June this year.

By not extending the contract, PSG missed out on the opportunity to receive a transfer fee when Mbappe joined Real Madrid under freedom of contract. According to the agreement, Mbappe had agreed to waive 55 million euros in bonuses if he left for free at the end of the 2023/24 season.

However, Mbappe's entourage disputes the validity of this agreement, despite Mbappe himself referencing it in a media appearance in January. This disagreement has led to a dispute over the unpaid bonuses, with PSG refusing to pay and Mbappe taking the issue to the French league's disciplinary committee.
