Nicolas Gonzalez Happy to Play Out of Position for Juventus

Nicolas Gonzalez joked he'd even play goalkeeper to help Juventus, and his attitude has earned praise from coach Thiago Motta.

Argentina international Nicolas Gonzalez expressed his willingness to play out of position for Juventus, showcasing his versatility after scoring his second goal in a week during Sunday's 2-1 victory at Monza. Gonzalez's goal came after a two-month layoff due to muscular issues.

Juventus coach Thiago Motta's tactical decision to deploy Gonzalez, typically a winger, in a deeper role behind striker Dusan Vlahovic proved effective. Gonzalez's presence paid dividends as Juventus scored two goals before halftime, securing their first win in five Serie A matches.

Nicolas Gonzalez highlighted his willingness to adapt and contribute to the team's success, jokingly expressing his readiness to play in any position, including goalkeeper. “To help the team, I can also play as goalkeeper... I also let the coach know that,” Gonzalez told DAZN after scoring the winning goal.

Gonzalez's versatility and positive attitude were praised by Juventus coach Thiago Motta, who also commended the team's other goalscorer, Weston McKennie. Motta expressed his pleasure in working with players who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to adapt. Juventus will host Fiorentina next Sunday, with the sixth-placed team looking to gain ground on their fifth-placed opponents.
