According to PETROAN, the Port Harcourt refinery will sell petrol at N1,030 per litre, as the refinery commences operations and begins trucking out petroleum products.
The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has confirmed that the newly operational Port Harcourt refinery will sell petrol at a rate of N1,030 per litre. This development comes on the heels of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited's (NNPCL) announcement that the refinery is now operational.
According to a statement released by PETROAN on Thursday, November 29, the association's spokesperson, Joseph Obele, revealed that the NNPCL had informed them of the refinery's pricing structure. As per the notification, the price of premium motor spirit (PMS) per litre at the refurbished refinery has been set at N1,030.
“NNPC Retail Ltd has officially announced the PMS price at the Port Harcourt refinery as N1,030 per litre,” Obele stated.
“It was also communicated to PETROAN that the product request portal was open for booking/request.”
He further stated that PETROAN'S strategic pricing team is currently assessing the best pricing options for its members, adding that the association is open to sourcing from all refineries across Nigeria.
PETROAN also called on the NNPCL to consider reducing prices further to ensure a festive and affordable Yuletide for Nigerians.
This announcement comes after weeks of speculation about the petrol price from the refinery.
It is worth noting that the Port Harcourt Refinery began operations and started trucking out petroleum products on Tuesday, November 26.
