The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has officially confirmed that the Port Harcourt refinery will sell petrol at a price of N1,030 per litre. This confirmation comes after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) reported that the refinery is now operational.

In a statement released on Thursday, November 28, PETROAN spokesperson Joseph Obele revealed that the NNPCL had informed the association about the new price for premium motor spirit (PMS) at the refurbished refinery. According to Obele, the NNPCL has set the price at N1,030 per litre.

“NNPC Retail Ltd has officially announced the PMS price at the Port Harcourt refinery as N1,030 per litre,” Obele stated.

“It was also communicated to PETROAN that the product request portal was open for booking/request.”

PETROAN's spokesperson, Joseph Obele, added that the association's strategic pricing team is currently evaluating the best pricing options for its members. He emphasized that PETROAN remains open to sourcing products from all refineries across Nigeria, ensuring a diverse and competitive supply chain.

In a plea to the NNPCL, PETROAN urged the company to consider further reducing prices to make the festive season more affordable for Nigerians. This announcement comes after weeks of speculation surrounding the petrol price from the refinery. Notably, the Port Harcourt Refinery commenced operations on Tuesday, November 26, and began distributing petroleum products.
