Bundesliga: Broschinski and Bero Strike as Bochum Secure Maiden Bundesliga Win

Bochum earned their first Bundesliga victory of the season, defeating Heidenheim 2-0 to double their points tally.

Bochum finally secured their first Bundesliga victory of the season in their 15th match, defeating fellow strugglers Heidenheim 2-0 on Sunday. The breakthrough came in the sixth minute, courtesy of Moritz Broschinski's expertly struck volley into the near corner, marking his first goal since February.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 38th minute, as Matus Bero unleashed a precise shot into the top left corner. This victory not only ended Bochum's winless drought but also doubled their season points tally to six, a welcome boost after managing only three draws in their first 14 matches.

Freiburg's defeat to Bayer Leverkusen has left them anchored at the bottom of the Bundesliga table. They trail Holstein Kiel by two points and Heidenheim, who occupy the relegation play-off spot, by four points.

Heidenheim's own struggles continue, with the team still searching for their first Bundesliga victory since late September. Their dismal run has seen them lose nine matches and draw one, leaving them precarious close to the relegation zone.

The Bundesliga will take a brief hiatus after Sunday's fixtures, with a three-week winter break scheduled. Before the break, Wolfsburg will host Borussia Dortmund in the final match of the year, capping off an exciting Sunday of football.
