Tillman's double helps PSV Eindhoven secure biggest Champions League victory since 1992.
PSV Eindhoven secured a resounding 4-0 victory over 10-man Girona in the Champions League, thanks in part to United States international Malik Tillman's impressive performance.
The Eredivisie leaders took an early lead through Ryan Flamingo, who volleyed home Tillman's long throw from close range. The goal was shrouded in controversy, as Tillman appeared to cross the touchline while taking the throw, but VAR did not intervene.
Tillman doubled PSV's advantage with a low drive at Gazzaniga's near post, drifting inside from the left wing. Girona's woes worsened early in the second half when Arnau Martinez received a second yellow card for bringing down Noa Lang.
PSV substitute Ismael Saibari had a goal denied by VAR for standing on defender Olivier Boscagli's foot. However, Johan Bakayoko sealed the win with a strike into the bottom corner.
Boscagli's own goal, diverting Saibari's effort past Gazzaniga, rounded out the scoring. This victory marks PSV's largest in the Champions League since 1992.
The win propels PSV to five points after four games, leapfrogging Girona, who remain on three points. On matchday five, PSV hosts Shakhtar Donetsk, while Girona travels to face Sturm Graz.
