Community outraged over horrific rape & murder of toddler in Bauchi.

The Bauchi Police Command reported a tragic incident involving a two-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and found dead in Bauchi, the state capital.

According to Police Public Relations Officer Ahmed Wakil, on November 5, the Ningi Police Division received a report of a lifeless toddler found beside a mosque on Deneva Street, Ningi Local Government Area, showing signs of sexual assault.

Wakil stated, “Upon receiving the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene, and the victim's body was taken to the General Hospital Ningi, where a medical report confirmed that the baby had suffered severe injuries as a result of penetration, which led to her death.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, has directed the Divisional Police Officer to make extra efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“He also called on parents and guardians to ensure the safety of their children, not to allow them to wander around the streets.”

The Bauchi Police Command is urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in apprehending and prosecuting those responsible for the horrific crime.
