President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven new ministers, including Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, to strengthen his administration.
President Bola Tinubu swore in seven new ministers on Monday, November 4, at the Council Chambers in Abuja. This ceremony followed the Senate's confirmation of the nominated ministers on Wednesday, October 30. Among the confirmed ministers is Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a former beauty queen, who will serve as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is no stranger to diplomacy, having previously served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Ghana and Spain. Her experience in international relations and diplomacy will undoubtedly be valuable in her new role. As the widow of the late Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, a key figure in Nigeria's Civil War, Bianca's appointment is significant. Her husband was the leader of the separatist republic, Biafra, which fought against Nigeria 41 years before his passing in 2011.

Early Life and Education: Bianca was born on August 5, 1968, to Christian Onoh, the former governor of Anambra State . She studied law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, after transferring from the University of Buckingham.
Pageantry: Bianca won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition in 1988 and went on to win Miss Africa 1989 and Miss Intercontinental 1989.
Diplomatic Career: She has served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Ghana and Spain and has been involved in various diplomatic efforts throughout her career.

This move came after months of growing calls from Nigerians for change. The Senate, led by Opeyemi Bamidele, suspended its rules to allow Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate matters, to present the nominees for confirmation.

Five ministers were fired, including Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development)
The Ministry of Niger Delta Development was renamed to Ministry of Regional Development to oversee Regional Development Commissions
The Ministry of Sports Development was scrapped, with its functions transferred to the National Sports Commission.
