South African Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan, along with SAFA's Chief Financial Officer Gronie Hluyo and businessman Trevor Neethling, have been arrested for allegedly diverting 1.3 million Rands (R1.3m) from the association for personal use. This shocking development was announced by Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale on Tuesday, November 12.

The investigation, led by the Hawks - a branch of the South African Police Service (SAPS) specializing in organized crime, financial crimes, and other severe offenses - is ongoing. Jordaan, a prominent figure in South African football, has been at the helm of SAFA since 2013. His leadership has been marked by significant events, including successfully hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The alleged diversion of funds has cast a shadow on Jordaan's tenure and raises questions about the governance of SAFA. As the investigation unfolds, the football community waits with bated breath for the outcome.

Allegations against Danny Jordaan, President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), have surfaced. Advocate Mojalefa Mogale claims that from 2014 to 2018, Jordaan improperly utilized SAFA resources for personal gain. This reportedly included hiring a private security firm for his personal protection and engaging a public relations company without obtaining necessary board approval.

The accused individuals, including Jordaan, are slated to appear before the Specialised Commercial Crime Court in Palm Ridge, Johannesburg, South Africa, on Wednesday, November 13. They will face charges related to the alleged misappropriation of SAFA funds.
