Renowned Nigerian musician Davido has unveiled plans to give back to the community, declaring his intention to donate a staggering N300 million to various orphanages in 2024. Taking to his official X account on Monday, November 18, the Afrobeats superstar shared his commitment to supporting vulnerable children and making a positive impact on their lives.

He stated, “I'll be donating once again to orphanages and a charity that supports young people in avoiding drug abuse and addiction.”

Davido's philanthropic efforts took shape in 2022 with the launch of the Davido Adeleke Foundation (DAF), a charitable initiative supported by like-minded organizations. The foundation's mission focuses on empowering vulnerable children.

Building on its success, the Davido Adeleke Foundation made a significant impact in 2023. In July, Davido announced that DAF had donated over N200 million to orphanages nationwide, improving the lives of 13,818 children. True to his commitment, Davido has pledged further donations in 2024.

In 2021, Davido's birthday sparked a wave of generosity. He shared his bank account details on Twitter, inviting friends and fans to celebrate with him. The spontaneous crowdfunding effort yielded an astonishing N200 million.

Moved by the outpouring of support, Davido decided to pay it forward. He announced plans to donate the entire N200 million to orphanages across Nigeria, transforming his birthday celebration into a nationwide charitable initiative.

“I am excited to announce that the total amount of N200 million will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria, along with the Paroche Foundation,” he stated.

Davido distributed the crowdfunded N200 million and topped it up with an extra N50 million, bringing the total donation to N250 million.
