Successful Operations in Zamfara and Katsina

In Zamfara State, troops responded swiftly to a road blockade by terrorists along the Jambako-Faru Road in Maradun Local Government Area on October 1. A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the terrorists to retreat, leaving behind an AK-47 rifle loaded with 7.62mm special ammunition.


Achievements:

Neutralized Terrorists: 3 terrorists eliminated

Recovered Arms and Ammunition: Large cache seized

Rescued Hostages: Successful rescue operations conducted

Nigerian troops successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Gidan Isa village, Isa Local Government Area. During the shootout, troops overwhelmed the terrorists attempting to cross the Marnona-Gudunmi-Isa Road. The operation yielded a substantial cache of ammunition, including:

  • 297 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
  • 23 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition
  • Two AK-47 rifle magazines
  • A motorcycle
  • A mobile phone


In another operation, troops swiftly responded to an attack on Damari village in Dandume Local Government Area, Katsina State, where terrorists had abducted three women. “After a swift pursuit, all the victims were successfully rescued and reunited with their families.”
