Widespread Blackout: National grid collapses, causing nationwide blackout.

Nigeria has experienced its sixth nationwide blackout this year due to the collapse of the national grid system.

According to Nairametrics, all distribution companies are currently not receiving power from the grid, resulting in a complete loss of electricity supply to their feeders.

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform its customers of the disruption, confirming the nationwide power outage.

“Dear Valued Customer,

“Kindly be informed there was a system collapse at 18:48hrs which has resulted to a loss of power supply across our network.

“We are currently working with our partners as we hope for speedy restoration of the grid. We will keep you updated as soon as power supply is restored. Kindly bear with us,” Eko Disco said.
