Kano NSCDC Arrests 45-Year-Old Bandit, Umar Ibrahim, for Crimes Including Kidnapping and Banditry - Investigation Ongoing
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has made a significant arrest, taking down a suspected bandit known as Umar Ibrahim or Danlami Tela. This 45-year-old suspect, hailing from Dikke in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State, was apprehended at Hotoro Yandodo in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to Ibrahim Abdullahi, NSCDC Public Relations Officer, the suspect has ties to a notorious bandit leader involved in kidnapping and banditry in Funtua. At the time of arrest, Ibrahim was found with several items, including an Android phone, three SIM cards, and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.
Following his arrest, Ibrahim has been transferred to the Nigerian Air Force Forward Operating Base 215 in Funtua for further action. The NSCDC plays a vital role in maintaining internal security, supporting special operations, and safeguarding critical national infrastructure. Their efforts are crucial in combating vandalism, illegal bunkering, and pipeline protection, ensuring the safety of citizens across Nigeria.
The NSCDC's structure comprises various directorates, including Administration, Disaster Management, Intelligence and Investigation, Operations, and Technical Service. With a strong presence across the country, the Corps works closely with other law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order.
