Honda's Latest Recall: Fuel Pump Failure in 700,000 Vehicles. Affected models: Accord, Civic, CR-V Hybrid (2023-2025). No injuries reported, but potential fire hazard. Get the details.

Honda, a Japanese automaker, has announced a massive recall of over 700,000 vehicles due to a potential fuel leak issue. The high-pressure fuel pump may crack, increasing the risk of a fire. This recall follows another major one earlier this month, affecting 1.7 million vehicles with potential steering problems.

The latest recall affects specific models:

  • 2023-2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid
  • 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid
  • 2023-2025 CR-V Hybrid

Honda reported 145 warranty claims related to this issue between February 2023 and September 2024 but no injuries or fatalities.

Recall Details:

  • Affected Vehicles: 700,000+
  • Reason: Potential fuel leak from high-pressure fuel pump
  • Models: Accord, Accord Hybrid, Civic, Civic Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid (2023-2025)
  • Incidents: 145 warranty claims, 0 injuries or fatalities

Honda advises owners to contact authorized dealers for inspections and repairs.

Honda has initiated a safety recall to address a potential fuel leak issue, affecting over 700,000 vehicles. To rectify the problem, dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump free of charge.

This recall follows another significant action taken by Honda two weeks ago, impacting approximately 1.7 million vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a safety recall order due to a manufacturing issue affecting the steering gearbox assembly.

According to the NHTSA recall order, the steering gearbox assembly “may have been manufactured incorrectly, potentially causing 'excessive internal friction' that could make the vehicle difficult to steer and increase the likelihood of a crash.”

The affected vehicles span model years 2022-2025 and include:

  • Certain Acura Integras
  • Honda Civics
  • Honda CR-Vs
  • Honda HR-Vs

The NHTSA launched an investigation into this issue in March after receiving 145 complaints from Honda Civic drivers. Drivers reported that their steering could stick, requiring extra effort to turn the steering wheel.

“Excessive internal friction” within the steering gearbox assembly poses a significant safety risk, prompting Honda's swift action to correct the issue and ensure driver safety.
