Bobrisky Alleges: N5M Paid to SAN for FG Pardon in Money Laundering Case
N5M Pardon Deal? Bobrisky Spills on Money Laundering Charges
“Truth be told, I won't lie to you, you're my person. I'm not in prison, but I'm around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather..."
Nigerian Crossdresser Bobrisky Implicates EFCC, Femi Falana, and Nigerian Correctional Service in Corruption Scandal
Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has made a startling claim in a recently released voice note. The controversial cross-dresser alleged that he paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to secure a presidential pardon for money laundering charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Bobrisky, the SAN initially demanded N10 million but settled for N5 million due to his inability to raise the full amount. Bobrisky attributed his financial constraint to the EFCC's decision to freeze his bank account.
This revelation came to light through a video posted by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, on October 7, 2024.
Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) revealed that the voice note was recorded on May 16, 2024. In the recording, Bobrisky disclosed that his godfather provided significant financial support.
Bobrisky shared that his godfather covered the initial N5 million payment to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for the presidential pardon. However, he couldn't ask for more financial help since his godfather had already arranged for him to stay in a comfortable, fully furnished apartment near the prison.
Contrary to popular belief, Bobrisky clarified that he was not incarcerated, despite ongoing legal issues with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He admitted, “Truth be told, I won't lie to you, you're my person. I'm not in prison, but I'm around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather. My godfather was able to say, 'Never, you will not smell that prison.'
“So, he was able to talk to the Deputy Controller in Nigeria and he said that as long as Bob is not posting or saying anything, they can put me close to the place so I can always come inside and see people and welcome my family. Nobody needs to know.”
Bobrisky revealed that his godfather, with assistance from the Deputy Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to stay in a comfortable apartment near the prison.
“I'm supposed to finish my sentence by July, but if we get the amnesty, I could leave by the first week of next month. The SAN asked for N10 million, which I could have transferred, but my account is frozen. My godfather gave me N5 million and we sent it to the SAN two weeks ago. He has already submitted the pardon request.”
Bobrisky revealed that his godfather, with assistance from the Deputy Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to stay in a comfortable apartment near the prison.
Bobrisky's latest revelation comes after his earlier allegation that EFCC operatives demanded and received a N15 million bribe to drop the money laundering charges against him.
Additionally, Bobrisky claimed that his godfather, in collaboration with the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment instead of a prison cell.
Bobrisky has made some serious allegations. He claims that human rights lawyer Femi Falana asked for N10 million in exchange for securing a presidential pardon for him. This is part of a larger controversy surrounding Bobrisky's money laundering charges and his efforts to get a pardon. Earlier, he revealed that he paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to help with the pardon process. It's unclear how these allegations will play out, but one thing's for sure - Bobrisky's case is full of twists and turns.
