The Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) in Oka-akoko, Ondo state, has issued a statement distancing itself from allegations that a 60-year-old man, Obatayo Adetunji, sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl. Adetunji had falsely claimed to be a pastor in the church.

In a clarification statement, Pastor Oludu David, Oka Regional Overseer, emphasized that Obatayo Adetunji has no affiliation with Deeper Life Ministry as a pastor. The church categorically denied any connection with the suspect.

The church also addressed the circulating rumors on social media, condemning the false claims that Adetunji was a pastor in the region. The statement aimed to set the record straight and prevent further misinformation.

Following the victim's disclosure of the sexual relationship to her parents, the state police command took swift action and arrested the suspect, Obatayo Adetunji.

Adetunji was then arraigned in court on a three-count charge, including defilement and unlawfully administering medication to induce an abortion for the minor victim.
