Aliko Dangote confirms Dangote Refinery's petrol production readiness, a major milestone for Nigeria's energy sector.
The Presidential Committee on Crude Oil and Refined Products Sales has scheduled the loading of petroleum products from Dangote Refinery to commence on September 15.
According to Zacch Adedeji, FIRS Chairman and committee member, petrol loading will start on Sunday.
Adedeji made the announcement during an Abuja press conference on September 13.
Starting October 1, NNPCL will supply 385,000 barrels/day of crude oil to Dangote Refinery, with payments made in Naira.
Dangote Refinery to receive 385kbpd crude oil from NNPC from October 1, with domestic market getting equivalent PMS and diesel value, paid in Naira.
Nigeria's domestic market to get PMS, diesel from Dangote Refinery, as NNPC supplies 385,000 barrels/day crude oil from October 1, paid in local currency.
He added, “from 1 October, NNPC will commence the supply of about 385kbpd of crude oil to the Dangote Refinery to be paid for in Naira.
“In return, the Dangote Refinery will supply PMS and diesel of equivalent value to the domestic market to be paid in Naira.
“Diesel will be sold in Naira by the Dangote Refinery to any interested off- taker.
“PMS will only be sold to NNPCL, NNPCL will then sell to various marketers for now. All associated regulatory costs will also be paid for in Naira.”
Aliko Dangote revealed last week that his refinery is set to commence petrol production.
